Game For More

An article on gaming careers was released in today’s edition of Education Times in the Times of India newspaper in India. Written and compiled by Praveena Lakshmanan, it talks indepth about the console and mobile gaming industry for new aspirants or for those just wanting to know more.

It was good to know that I was considered a crucial part of this industry in India and got an opportunity to contribute to it from the mobile perspective.

You can read the online version on this link for Game For More

Is there any training center for Flash Lite in Chennai or Hyderabad or Bangalore.
I googled and all I could get was that of Teknopoint in Mumbai.

What are the basics one need to learn Flash Lite .Does one need high level Actionscript knowledge or J2ME.Can you please get back with what I have asked.

@Alessandro - Thanks a lot!

@ matcher - Currently there is no official training for Flash Lite in India other than Teknopoint. However, if you are interested in corporate training, you can send me an email, and I can arrange it for you.

Regarding the level of AS needed to code Flash Lite, it really depends upon the version you are targeting. If you want to develop FL 1.1 then the AS is the one used by Flash 4. If you want to target Flash Lite 2.0 / 2.1 / 3.0 then the AS required is 1.0 or 2.0, the choice is yours. However I would like to add that the coding is not any different from the Flash coding for the web or desktop, the only difference is taking care of optimization for your scripts and graphics.

I would suggest you join the IndiMaD group, which is a Mobiles and Devices User Group in India - http://www.indimadgroup.com/

We are meeting up next week at the Adobe office in Bangalore, so if you are in the vicinity you can meet the other Flash Lite enthusiasts like yourself.
